Junior Hydraulic Modeller (Water & Wastewater Projects)

Position Description
Ainley Group is currently seeking an experienced Junior Water Modeller to join our Collingwood or Mississauga office. As a successful candidate with 2 to 4 years of modelling experience, you would join our team responsible for undertaking the building and maintenance of computer hydraulic water and wastewater models for municipal and private sector clients.
The modelling assignments will be integral to various types of projects including Master Plans, Municipal Class Environmental Assessments, Secondary Plans and System Capacity Assessments. The types of projects may include Hydraulic Modelling (Water & Wastewater, primarily), Hydraulic Transient (Surge) Analysis, Servicing Needs Assessments, GIS Data Review, Development Engineering Support, Detailed Design Support (Pumping Stations and Linear Works), Integration with our SCADA team, and Asset Management planning.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct hydraulic modelling analyses for water and wastewater systems.
- Perform data analysis for planning studies.
- Support sewer and water design projects.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- In the process of obtaining your Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation in Ontario, or a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
- Two to four years of experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated expertise in modelling software such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks ICM, InfoWater, and PCSWMM.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic principles.
- Knowledge of GIS systems, particularly ESRI ArcGIS.
- Skills in data processing and visualization.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of municipal infrastructure design and construction principles and standards..
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
