Ainley Group Celebrates 65 Years with $65,000 Community Investment and New Logo

Milestone honours the firm’s roots, celebrates a legacy of community partnership and introduces a new logo for its next chapter

September 2026

COLLINGWOOD, ON — Ainley Group recently celebrated its 65th anniversary with a $65,000 investment in the community where the company was founded and the introduction of a new corporate logo reflecting its evolution as Community Infrastructure Partners.

Founded in Collingwood, Ontario, in 1961 by William “Bill” Ainley, Ainley Group has grown from a local engineering practice into a multidisciplinary organization serving municipalities and other public- and private-sector clients from six offices across Ontario.

To commemorate its anniversary, Ainley Group donated $65,000 to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation in support of Tomorrow’s Hospital, a new healthcare facility planned to respond to the needs of the growing South Georgian Bay region. The anniversary donation recognizes the firm’s roots while investing in the future of healthcare in South Georgian Bay.

“We wanted our 65th anniversary to be about more than looking back—we wanted it to be about giving back,” said Joe Mullan, President & CEO. “Supporting Tomorrow’s Hospital is a meaningful way to give back to the community where our firm began and to contribute to infrastructure that will serve local families for generations.”

The passing of Simon Ainley shortly before the anniversary gave the milestone added significance for the Ainley family and the firm’s employees. As Chairman, Simon helped carry forward the values and commitment to community established by Ainley’s founders and remained closely involved in shaping the company’s direction. The development of the new logo was among the final corporate initiatives in which he played an important role.

“Simon wanted our brand to reflect both the foundation Ainley has built and the organization we have become,” said Christine Thorburn, Vice President, Marketing & Proposals. “His involvement in this initiative makes the new logo especially meaningful. It reflects the firm he helped lead, as well as the values that continue to guide us.”

A Familiar Foundation. A Bolder Expression of Who We Are Today.

New Ainley Group Logo

Ainley Group’s new logo provides a bolder and intentionally simple expression of the firm’s evolution as Community Infrastructure Partners.

The design represents innovation, growth, collaboration and connection while evoking the roads, waterways and infrastructure that support community progress. It also reflects Ainley Group’s commitment to environmental stewardship and to balancing development with responsible care for the natural environment.

While the logo has evolved, Ainley Group’s established colours remain, preserving continuity with the recognition and trust the firm has built during its 65-year history.

The revitalized identity reinforces the idea that infrastructure is ultimately about people. Whether planning a transportation corridor, improving a water or wastewater system, rehabilitating a bridge or supporting community growth, Ainley Group works alongside its clients to create infrastructure that strengthens the places people call home.

“Our role extends beyond providing technical services,” Mullan added. “We work closely with municipalities and other partners to understand their communities, solve complex infrastructure needs and develop practical solutions with lasting value. Community Infrastructure Partners captures both what we do and how we do it.”

Together, the anniversary celebration, donation and revitalized brand recognize three interconnected parts of Ainley Group’s story: the foundation established in Collingwood, the people and communities that contributed to its growth, and a continued commitment to building stronger communities across Ontario.
