The Ainley Group is a multi-disciplinary, consulting engineering and planning firm with offices in Barrie, Belleville, Collingwood and Ottawa.  We provide a broad range of services to both public and private sector clients throughout central and eastern Ontario and due to continued growth we have the following openings in our Collingwood and Barrie Offices:

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER/TECHNOLOGIST (Barrie & Belleville Offices) - Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with a minimum of five years current experience in Ontario, specifically related to design and contract administration of Municipal bridges, culverts, retaining walls, pumping stations and low rise building components.  Applicants must have a strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and be familiar with structural analysis software such as S-Frame. Previous experience with Ministry of Transportation Highway Costing System (HiCo) and Contract Preparation System (CPS), would be a definite asset.

MUNICIPAL ENGINEER/TECHNOLOGIST (Collingwood Office) - Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with a minimum of seven years current experience in Ontario.  Applicants should also possess superior skills in the Peer review of land development projects as well as the design and contract administration of pubic and private infrastructure projects including roads, sewage collection, water distribution and stormwater management projects.  Preference will be given to applicants that have previous contract administration experience.

TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER (Collingwood Office) - Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with a minimum of seven years current experience in Ontario.  Applicants must possess a comprehensive background in civil engineering with emphasis on design experience relating to geometric design standards (TAC/MTO standards) and have demonstrated project management experience on roads, bridges and transportation systems.  Preference will be given to applicants who also have experience on Municipal infrastructure projects including sewage collection, water distribution and stormwater management projects. 

HIGHWAY DESIGN ENGINEER/TECHNOLOGIST (Collingwood Office) – Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with two to five years of Ministry of Transportation experience.  Applicants must have recent successful experience in producing preliminary design reports or detail design contract packages (a minimum of 2 projects).  Applicants must also have experience in providing ongoing support and assistance to the TPM Project Manager.  Extensive familiarity with current MTO design standards, specifications, policies, practices, and processes must be shown.  Experience with MTO software is also required including but not limited to CPS, HiCo (HDS or InRoads knowledge is also an asset).

PROJECT ENGINEER (Collingwood Office) - Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with a minimum of five years experience in the successful delivery of Ministry of Transportation (MTO) preliminary design or detail design projects involving a multi-disciplinary project environment.  Applicants should have expertise in the management of freeway and King’s highway TPM preliminary design and detail design projects of varying complexity; ability to lead and co-ordinate multi-disciplinary engineering specialities; demonstrated experience in project scheduling and cost control of MTO projects; demonstrated proficiency in presentation and communication skills; demonstrated experience in the application of MTO quality control procedures and plans.

All applicants for the aforementioned positions must possess strong communication skills and have familiarity with civil engineering design software, spreadsheets and word processing applications.  Applicants must be prepared to work in a team environment and provide support to design engineers and project managers.  The Ainley Group offers competitive compensation packages along with opportunities to excel in a friendly and professional work environment.
